Middle School Conference

The  purpose of the Middle School Conference is to provide an educational event that initiates the formation of leadership skills at the middle school level and enhances the continual development of students toward responsible and informed citizenship in the urban and suburban environments in which they live and learn.

The conference planners recognize that for the successful realization of the METCO Directors' Association's mission, expanded services like this middle school conference must be offered.  The conference will buttress understanding, cooperation and educational opportunity, while assisting in the development of critical leadership skills.  It is also recognized that developing leadership skills is essential for the effective empowerment of students to make informed choices on issues having an impact on their educational and civil development.  The student participant should possess leadership potential, good communication skills, be enthusiastic, respectful, focused, and have the desire to achieve.  Click here for a list of student conference guidelines.
